Bulent Sobaci
Director of Math Programming
I work mainly with middle and high school students, supporting them in building strong math skills while preparing for goals like TJ admissions and the SAT. Over the past 11+ years, I’ve taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus (AB & BC), and one thing I see often is that students don’t struggle because math is too hard, but because it hasn’t been explained clearly.
I’ve taught in public, private, and international school settings, including IB-based programs, which has shaped how I approach instruction and long-term planning. I hold a master’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, but in my work with students, I focus on clarity, structure, and steady progress rather than rushing ahead. I work closely with families, set clear expectations, and aim to help students feel confident not just on tests, but in how they think through math problems. I care about students understanding the “why,” not just getting the right answer.
